DTN analyst Todd Hultman reports that U.S. soybean crush values are surging as renewable diesel plants add processing capacity. The U.S. is expected to plant a record 91 million acres of soybeans and may carry only about 200 million bushels into the new crop.
Cash beans are trading above $16 per bushel across much of the Midwest.
New renewable diesel-driven crush capacity pulls more soybeans into processing, tightening bean supplies and lifting soybean oil demand. The extra crush also adds meal supply, which can pressure meal prices.
