Rapeseed and canola prices fell about 8% and 4.8% respectively in the week to June 22 after a sharp drop in oil prices pulled down palm oil. Paris August rapeseed fell to €719.75 per tonne and November canola to C$954 per tonne, with EU rapeseed imports down 15% year on year.
Lower crude and palm oil prices transmit to biofuel-linked oilseeds, cutting values for rapeseed and canola meal. Weaker EU import demand adds to pressure on oilseed meal prices.
