The Philippine Department of Agriculture and partner institutes developed a low-cost aquafeed that replaces imported fishmeal with corn and poultry by-products and copra meal. Field tests on milkfish and tilapia are planned.
If adopted, the feed would reduce Philippine aquaculture demand for imported fishmeal and imported feed ingredients, a modest bearish factor for fishmeal.
