Imarpe reported 1,574,423 tonnes of anchovy landed between May 4 and June 12, 2022, equal to 56.4% of the season's maximum catch limit. Main ports were Chimbote, Pisco and Callao, and juvenile incidence is declining as fleets move away from affected areas.
Landings at over half the quota with a larger northern-central biomass point to steady fishmeal supply, which limits upside in fishmeal prices. Falling juvenile share lowers the risk of early closures that would otherwise tighten supply.
