CBOT corn and wheat closed lower, with KC and Chicago wheat falling to new contract lows, while soybeans edged higher on a rally in soybean meal. Cattle futures closed strongly higher and lean hog futures also closed higher, and winter wheat conditions slipped to 50% good to excellent.
Lower grain prices reduce feed ingredient costs, while firmer livestock futures support demand for feed in the cattle and hog sectors.
