The Philippine Department of Agriculture has launched interventions to stabilize rising poultry prices caused by higher demand and low production. Measures include allowing inter-island shipments of day-old chicks, hatching eggs and pullets from Luzon, subject to avian influenza testing.
The DA will also seek cheaper feed ingredient sources and has lifted a temporary import ban on some poultry products.
Measures to expand supply and open trade aim to ease poultry prices, though high feed input costs continue to constrain production and support prices.
