Ukraine's feed additive prices rose sharply in July 2022 while feedstuff prices stayed low, according to the Ukraine Agribusiness Club. Lysine hydrochloride rose 26%, methionine 20%, threonine 18% and valine 51%, driven by currency devaluation, logistics changes and higher freight costs.
Higher amino acid prices in Ukraine reflect currency and logistics costs that raise the landed cost of additives for feed mills. Cheap domestic grain alongside expensive additives widens the cost gap for compound feed producers.
