USDA projects 2022 US sorghum production at 286.12 million bushels, down sharply from 447.81 million in 2021, on lower yield and harvested area. Ending stocks are seen at 24 million bushels versus 53 million, and the average farm price is estimated at $6.55 per bushel.
A much smaller US sorghum crop and tighter stocks support prices and reduce feed-grain supply available to livestock buyers.
