Statistics Canada reported July canola crush at 773,998 tonnes, the largest in eight months, bringing the 2021-22 crop-year crush to 8.555 million tonnes, down 17.9% year on year. Oil content averaged 41.8% for the crop year, the lowest since 2004-05.
Robust crush demand supports canola meal supply and prices, while low oil content reduces oil output per tonne crushed.
