Capesize and Panamax dry bulk markets were flat in the Pacific basin during the week. The average spot rate for the C8 roundtrip voyage between Brazil and Europe rose 50% since the previous Friday to more than $20,000 per day.
The jump on the Brazil-Europe route reflects stronger demand for Brazilian grain and commodity cargoes, supporting ocean freight costs on that lane even as the broader market stayed weak.
