CoBank analysis says egg and turkey prices will stay high after this year's HPAI outbreak, which has affected about 43.8 million birds across 39 states. Egg prices have nearly tripled since January and turkey breast prices are up 60%.
CoBank expects tight supplies to keep poultry prices elevated longer than in the 2014-2015 outbreak, which could slow demand for chicken and eggs. Feed buyers should expect continued pressure on poultry production economics.
