CME milk futures and cash dairy prices were mostly lower on Friday. October Class III milk fell $0.19 to $21.75 while cheese blocks, butter and dry whey were unchanged, and nonfat dry milk rose $0.02 to $1.57.
Lower Class III futures signal softer near-term milk revenue for dairy farmers and modestly weaker demand expectations for dairy-based feed inputs.
