Adisseo held a start-up ceremony for its 180,000-ton liquid methionine project at the Nanjing plant, which is a subsidiary of Sinochem Holdings. The company says the plant is now the single largest liquid methionine site in the world.
It also says the expansion will strengthen its position in methionine in China and globally.
The commissioning adds substantial liquid methionine supply, which is bearish for methionine prices and could pressure competing amino acid producers.
