Sinochem Holdings' subsidiary Adisseo launched a 180,000-ton liquid methionine project at its Nanjing plant in Jiangsu Province on September 15. Together with an earlier section, the site now has designed annual capacity of 350,000 tons.
The company says it is one of the largest liquid methionine production platforms in the world.
A large addition to Chinese liquid methionine capacity increases regional supply of a key feed amino acid, which tends to weigh on methionine prices and competing feed-additive pricing.
