Tyson Foods agreed to pay Washington state $10.5 million to settle a lawsuit alleging a long-running scheme to fix chicken prices and rig contracts with competitors. Tyson admits no wrongdoing and will cooperate in the state's ongoing litigation against 16 other chicken producers.
This is the third settlement from the case, after two smaller producers paid a combined $1.2 million.
The settlement is a legal development with limited direct effect on chicken supply or feed demand, though ongoing litigation could affect industry pricing practices over time.
