The South Korean won closed at 1,318.40 per dollar on November 11, up 59.1 won in a single session, its largest one-day gain since 2008. The move followed a US inflation report that came in below expectations, raising hopes the Fed would slow its rate hikes.
The Korean stock index also rose 3.37% that day.
