Peru's PRODUCE set the north-central anchovy quota for the second 2022 season at 2.283 million tons, 11.5% above the 2021 quota of 2.047 million tons. IFFO reported cumulative fishmeal output for the first nine months of 2022 was flat year on year, while fish oil was up 4%.
The higher quota increases the Peruvian anchovy catch available for fishmeal, which is bearish for fishmeal prices, though stable 2022 output limits the impact.
