Peru's PRODUCE authorised the start of the north-central anchovy season on 28 November with a total allowable catch of up to 2.28 million metric tons. The first season reached 84% of its quota, and Peru's fishmeal and fish oil export earnings are expected to exceed $2 billion this year.
