Inner Mongolia Miraculous Crop Science has invested RMB 762.28 million to expand its feed-grade DL-methionine plant by 200,000 tons per year. The project includes large volumes of intermediates such as acrolein, methyl mercaptan and methylthiopropionaldehyde.
The expansion adds to China's methionine production base.
Added Chinese methionine capacity increases supply and is generally bearish for global methionine prices, though the effect is gradual as the plant comes online.
