A scoping study for the Chaketma phosphate project in Tunisia, owned by ASX-listed PhosCo, estimates annual output of 1.5 million tonnes of concentrate over a 46-year mine life. The study assumes a phosphate price of $150 per tonne free-on-board and an after-tax NPV of $657 million.
A new mine adds future phosphate supply, which is mildly bearish for rock prices over the long term, though the project is years from production and has little near-term price effect.
