Turkey's state grain board TMO bought about 18,000 tonnes of rice in an international tender that closed November 25, mostly round grain at $1,350-$1,385 per tonne including delivery. Traders said the rice was expected to come from supplies already in Turkey, so no imports were expected.
The purchase is small and sourced mainly from domestic stocks, so it has little effect on global rice supply or prices.
After 442 past trade events, Rough Rice moved a median +0.2% over 5 sessions (52% higher; middle half -1.8% to +2.3%), and +0.6% over 20.
