Mosaic said its Colonsay potash mine in Saskatchewan, curtailed in December 2022, will restart depending on when current inventories fall enough for long-term operations. The company expects this to happen through the first quarter and plans to lift output to 1.8-2.0 million tonnes by restarting a second mill in late 2023.
Potential restart and planned capacity expansion would add potash supply later in 2023, a bearish factor for prices if inventories clear as expected.
