AGT Foods and partners are developing a process to make a canola protein concentrate above 60% protein from canola meal under a Protein Industries Canada-funded project. The product is intended as a sustainable alternative to Brazilian soy protein in aquafeed.
This is a long-term development project with no immediate supply effect, so price impact is minimal, though it could eventually add demand for canola meal.
