Dutch feed analyst reports that compound feed prices are falling, but only slowly, with pork chunk feed down €2 to €399.50 per tonne in January. Wheat on Matif has dropped from €340 to below €285 per tonne since October, while CBOT soybeans have risen about 10% to above $550 per tonne.
Lower wheat prices are easing compound feed costs, and further declines are expected with a two-to-three month lag, though rising soybean prices partly offset this.
