Darling Ingredients plans to expand its Bellevue, Nebraska rendering facility to handle off-take from a new 2,000-head-per-day beef plant in Mills County, Iowa. The $520 million Cattleman's Heritage plant is due to start construction in spring 2023 and begin operations before the end of 2024.
A large new beef plant adds future rendering by-product volume, supporting meat-and-bone meal supply in the medium term, but operations are not due until 2024 so the near-term price effect is small.
