Ireland's MBM was traditionally exported to the UK, but that outlet has closed, and a temporary post-Brexit derogation continues only while domestic alternatives are set up.
Loss of the UK export outlet for MBM raises domestic disposal costs and removes a supply channel for rendered protein, which could tighten or reshape local feed-protein availability.
