Statistics Canada reported lower December imports and exports of all goods, with farm, fishing and food exports down 9.9% month over month. Lentil and chickpea exports remained strong, with lentil shipments the largest December total in six years.
Strong pulse export demand, especially to India, supports pulse prices and reflects healthy Canadian export flows, though pulses are only marginally relevant to feed markets.
