Energreen Nutrition plans a $25 million oilseed crushing plant near Emerald, Queensland, with capacity of 200 tonnes a day. The plant would crush cottonseed, safflower, sunflower and soybean into edible oils, biodiesel and animal protein meal.
The proponent says it could revive the regional oilseed industry.
The project is a modest, early-stage addition to Australian crush capacity and has little immediate effect on world feed meal prices.
