An independent economic study commissioned under the Cotton Research and Promotion Program found the program raised U.S. farm cotton prices by about 13% on average and expanded production. The report also said the program helped support the price of cottonseed.
The findings describe past promotion effects rather than new supply or demand, so they have little direct effect on cottonseed meal prices for feed buyers.
