The U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council reported DDGS values up $1-3/MT on the week of March 16 on stronger domestic demand and firmer corn futures. The FOB ethanol plant DDGS-to-cash corn ratio rose to 1.17, above its three-year average of 1.06.
Barge CIF NOLA offers for May and June gained $2-3/MT on higher barge freight.
A DDGS-to-corn ratio well above its historical average makes DDGS less attractive relative to corn in rations, which can limit feed demand. Higher barge freight adds to delivered costs for buyers in the Gulf and export markets.
