Lysine HCl prices have started weakening again on a FOB China basis and in regional markets after several months of stability. Threonine prices are flat or unoffered at FOB China but have softened locally on poor demand, while methionine is calm at a low level after the Q2 contract round.
Weaker Chinese amino acid prices lower the cost of synthetic lysine and methionine in feed formulations, which eases pressure on feed costs for animal-feed buyers. Persistent weakness keeps downside pressure on these additive prices.
