The South African rand strengthened slightly in early trade on Wednesday as the dollar slipped on global markets. Traders were awaiting March producer price index figures, with analysts expecting annual producer inflation to ease to 10.95% from 12.2%.
A firmer rand reflects a softer dollar, which can modestly support dollar-priced commodities. The main domestic focus is inflation, which has little direct bearing on feed prices.
