SunSirs reported that the China reference price for 30% grade phosphate rock was about 1,070 RMB/ton on May 9, 2023, down 20 RMB/ton from May 1. Prices weakened after the Labor Day holiday as downstream yellow phosphorus demand and operating rates stayed low.
Some Chinese miners cut mid to high-grade prices by 20 to 40 RMB/ton.
Weak domestic demand and falling Chinese phosphate rock prices suggest continued softness in raw phosphate input costs.
