The European Commission agreed with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria to restrict Ukrainian wheat, corn, rapeseed and sunflower supply from May 2 to June 5, in exchange for EU aid. Ukrainian sunflowerseed demand prices fell about USD 33-41 per tonne in early May as refinery buying slowed.
The restrictions limit Ukrainian oilseed and grain flows into the EU and change regional supply routes. The lower Ukrainian seed prices reflect weaker crush demand.
