Ukrainian sunflower meal exports for September-April 2022/23 reached about 2.7 million tonnes, roughly flat year on year and among the lowest levels in seven seasons. Shipments to the EU rose 63% to about 1 million tonnes, while China took about 50% of volume.
A shift in Ukrainian meal toward the EU, which now takes 49% of EU sunflower meal imports, changes trade flows but leaves total supply little changed. The price effect is modest.
