Cargill has invested AUD 73 million to upgrade and expand its Newcastle, Narrabri and Footscray oilseed crush plants in Australia. The Narrabri plant is being converted to a cottonseed dehulling site, and Newcastle will add cottonseed crushing.
Higher Australian crush capacity will increase domestic canola and cottonseed meal output over time, which adds meal supply in the region.
