IFFO reported that Peruvian fishmeal output rose sharply in early 2023 and fish oil output fell. Peru announced a preliminary north-centre anchovy quota of 1.091 million tonnes with an exploratory fishing period starting June 3.
Higher Peruvian output earlier in the year is offset by a fixed-quota season that could be cut, so the supply outlook for fishmeal depends on the outcome of the exploratory fishing.
