A federal judge in Illinois dismissed class-action claims that Foster Farms and five other poultry producers, along with Agri Stats, conspired to limit chicken supply and raise prices. The judge found no evidence of conspiracy and ruled that a 2010 trade-press quote was hearsay.
The ruling removes a legal overhang on US broiler integrators but has no direct effect on supply, demand or feed usage.
