Ukraine processed about 11.5 million tonnes of sunflower seed in 11 months of 2022/23, up 13%. June crush fell 21% to 888,000 tonnes, the lowest monthly figure of the season after processing plants suspended operations amid falling oil bid prices in April-May.
Some processors plan to switch to rapeseed in July-August.
Low crush reduces sunflower meal output, supporting meal prices. Rapeseed switching could raise canola-related supply later in the year.
