Canada exported only 292,000 tonnes of canola seed in June, the lowest monthly volume in nine months, as Chinese demand fell. Shipments to China rose sharply in January-June, and exports are expected to recover to 480,000-500,000 tonnes in July.
Weaker June exports leave more canola available domestically, which is mildly bearish for canola prices, though the expected July recovery limits the effect.
