Russian Hydrogen pledged to resume construction of the Donbiotech lysine complex in Russia's Rostov region, halted in 2018. The project will invest an additional 20 billion roubles, with construction set to begin in October 2023 and completion in three stages by 2026.
The plant was originally designed to produce 85,000 tonnes of feed lysine per year.
A future domestic Russian feed lysine source would add supply over several years but has no near-term effect on prices. Buyers should note it as a longer-run shift in global lysine and grain processing capacity.
