Analysts at Ebury and Societe Generale expect the Thai baht to rally to 34 per dollar by year-end, more than 5% stronger than current levels. The view rests on growth measures announced by new Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, and Krungsri Securities says a stable baht would support sovereign debt and local stocks.
A firmer baht would lower Thai import costs for dollar-priced feed ingredients, supporting purchasing power. The forecast is an analyst view and does not by itself change supply or demand.
