Western Canada feed barley bids face harvest pressure as growers move grain for bin space despite a smaller crop. Statistics Canada puts 2023 barley at 7.8 million tonnes, and about 750,000 tonnes of US corn sales to Canada are already booked, with around 3 million tonnes expected.
Expected large US corn imports into Canada will offset domestic feed shortfalls and cap upside in barley prices until corn arrives in November.
