Lukashenko said Russian President Vladimir Putin supports Belarus using additional port facilities near Leningrad (St. Petersburg) for potash exports. Belarusian officials are divided over whether to pursue this, and Lukashenko also called for reducing receivables on potash sales abroad.
Bronka and Murmansk are currently used for these shipments.
Access to more Russian ports could ease Belarusian potash export bottlenecks, which would add supply to global markets over time. The plan is still under discussion and has no confirmed timeline.
