The Class III milk price is recovering from a summer low of $13.77/cwt in June, as reported by dairy economist Corey Geiger. Milk solid exports fell nearly 7% year on year, and US dairy cows sent to slaughter rose by 108,000 head over last year through mid-September.
Higher cow culling reduces future milk supply, while weaker exports cap demand; together these support the price recovery and affect feed demand.
