Statistics Canada reported a record October canola crush of about 974,000 tonnes, the second consecutive monthly rise. The August-October cumulative crush was 2.73 million tonnes, up 17.9% from the same period last year.
The oil content of the crop and the ICE canola board margin, at historically high levels, were also noted.
Record crush output adds to canola meal supply and reflects strong processor margins, which pressures meal prices while supporting seed demand.
