Belarus's ambassador to India said Minsk is seeking to restart potash fertilizer exports to India. India has historically sourced about 20% of its potash imports from Belarus, but Western sanctions imposed in 2021 targeting Belaruskali have hampered trade.
A possible return of Belarusian potash would add supply to a market where India imports almost all its needs, potentially easing prices; however, sanctions make the resumption uncertain.
