Oil World forecasts 2023-24 global sunflower seed production at 56.7 million tonnes, up 3% on the prior year, mainly from higher output in Ukraine and Russia. The global sunflower crush is estimated at 52.5 million tonnes, roughly flat, with higher crush expected in Ukraine, Russia and the US.
Larger seed supplies and higher crush volumes increase sunflower meal availability, which is bearish for meal prices. Global sunflower oil stocks are still projected to be tight at 4.23 million tonnes by September.
