Russia's Ministry of Agriculture says the export duty on sunflower oil will stay at zero in January 2024, the eighth consecutive month at that level. The duty on sunflower meal will fall from 3,313 RUR/t in December to 4,079 RUR/t, based on an indicative price of 239.9 USD/t.
A zero oil duty keeps Russian sunflower oil competitive on export markets. The lower meal duty should make Russian meal cheaper to export, which is mildly bearish for sunflower meal prices.
