The U.S. Grains Council weekly market report says DDGS values firmed as corn and soymeal gained, with Barge CIF NOLA offers up $3/MT for December. USDA's October grind data showed 11.722 MMT of corn used for fuel ethanol and DDGS output up 5.6% from September to 1.63 MMT.
Firmer DDGS and corn-based feed co-product prices raise feed input costs for buyers, while strong ethanol grind supports corn demand. The DDGS/corn ratio sitting well above its three-year average favors DDGS substitution less.
